Broken Lizard does a whole lot of comedy
Improv and stand-up comedy are usually mutually exclusive — like peanut butter and barbecue sauce or the Democratic Party and Rush Limbaugh. Some things just don’t go together.
Improv is a team game, and stand-up is a solo venture. However, the members of Broken Lizard don’t care about the norm. The inventive veteran comedy group will deliver a potpourri of comedy Oct. 29-31 at Goodnight’s Comedy Club in Raleigh.
The troupe will mix improv, stand-up and sketch comedy. “We’re ready to go out and do whatever we have to do to make people laugh,” Paul Soter says by conference call from Los Angeles with his Broken Lizard mate Kevin Heffernan. “Some of us aren’t used to stand-up. We’re used to sketch, of course. But it’ll be a great challenge for us on this tour.”
